چکیده

We prepared binder-free monoliths of carbon nanohorns(CNHs), hole-opened nanohorns (CNHoxs), multi-walled nanotube(MWCNT), and single-walled nanotube(SWCNT)using spark plasma sintering(SPS)method at 1800℃ 80 MPa in vacuum. The density the SPS-treated SWCNT is 1.8 g/cm3, which close to that graphite, while those CNHs, CNHoxs, MWCNT remained 1.1-1.3 g/cm3 even after SPS treatment. evaluated using Raman spectroscopy scanning electron microscopy observation, showed a significant defect formation graphitization SWCNTs. Moreover, increase defects was moderate, sub-micron size structures remained. observed CNHs CNHoxs were highly conductive with Hall mobility positive holes ~50 cm2/Vs electrical conductivity ~300 S/cm. These experimental results indicated treatment under appropriate conditions could provide monolith nanostructure good conductivity.

Microstructure of spark plasma sintered TiB2 and TiB2–AlN ceramics

In this research study, the effects of aluminum nitride (AlN) additive on the densification behavior and microstructure development of titanium diboride (TiB2) based ceramic matrix composite were investigated. In this way, a monolithic TiB2 ceramic and a TiB2–5 wt% AlN ultrahigh temperature ceramic composite were fabricated by spark plasma sintering (SPS) proces...

Grain growth kinetic of spark plasma sintered magnesia

In this research, the densification of magnesia nanopowder with a mean particle size of about 100 nm was investigated by spark plasma sintering undera pressures of 80 MPa and at temperature range from 1000 °C to 1400 °C and a heating rate of 50 °C/min for 20 minutes. The density of the samples slowly increased with increasing sintering temperatures to 1200 °C. Afterwards, with more increasing o...

Microstructure and Properties of Spark Plasma Sintered MoAlB Ceramics

Advisor: Bai Cui Molybdenum aluminum boride (MoAlB) is a ternary transition metal boride which has promising aeronautic and nuclear applications. It inheres excellent properties of the binary transitional metal borides (e.g., MoB, ZrB2) such as high melting temperature, high hardness, and thermal conductivity. Besides, MoAlB is superior to MoB because: (1) the Al element provides an oxidation r...
